We know the decision to remodel your home—whether it’s a small update or a whole-house renovation—is a big one. That’s why every project we manage is guided by a step-by-step process that’s been perfected for over 37 plus years in the industry. Our approach to remodeling projects, big and small, incorporates checks and balances at every phase to ensure you are completely comfortable with the project before a hammer ever meets a nail.
The result is an experience you will thoroughly enjoy, a home you will absolutely love, and with no unexpected surprises along the way. We guarantee it.
1. IN-HOUSE CONSULTATION
The process starts with a complimentary in-house consultation with our sales team, where we begin to develop a sense of expectations for the project, timeline, and budget.
We tour the home to understand the owners’ style and develop a ’big picture’ idea of how the new project will complement the current environment and enhance the desired living style.
Based on this information-gathering phase, we can start defining options and possibilities that mesh with the clients’ requirements.
2. IDEA MEETING IN OUR SHOWROOM
A second meeting is typically held in our award-winning, state-of-the-art showroom where we share examples of previous work and similar projects, present ideas and material options, discuss rough costs and timeline estimates, and further define project specifics.
3. DETAILED PROPOSAL & DESIGN OPTIONS
Once a customer decides to move forward with the design process, we present a detailed proposal that describes all tasks to be completed, lists all materials, finishes, and color selections, and includes costs associated with each aspect of the project.
Our powerful drafting software allows us to bring the project to life for our clients and present them with a highly accurate picture of the finished environment. Homeowners get peace of mind that we understand their needs and that the final product will be just right.
4. PROJECT SCHEDULE & PRODUCTION PLAN
Once a contract is signed, the project manager meets with the homeowners to collaboratively schedule the project and determine a payment schedule, ensuring all parties are on the same page concerning all project details.
5. PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING
We hold a pre-construction meeting to iron out specific issues such as where our staff should park and what door they should use. We find out about pets or children and any special instructions we should follow.
6. CONSTRUCTION BEGINS
Once construction begins, the project manager maintains the same attention to detail and commitment to service that goes into the planning process.
A master project schedule and a detailed weekly schedule are posted at the job site at all times. Weekly meetings are held to address questions, review the schedule, and ensure the project is on track.
7. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CHECK-INS
Our top priority is complete customer satisfaction, and sometimes that means making changes to the plan. We make sure you understand exactly how they will affect the timeline and budget, and we get your approval in writing first.
8. FINAL WALK-THROUGH & WARRANTY
At the end of every project, after ensuring the client’s satisfaction at the final walk-through, both the homeowner and a J.S. Brown representative sign a Notice of Completion, which puts our unique five-year warranty into effect. We warranty our work because we believe in it. We stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship, the professionalism and integrity of our people, and the dependability of our proven, stress-free process.
More importantly, we want you to be completely satisfied with your home for years to come. If something happens to change your satisfaction, let us know, and we’ll fix it. It’s as simple as that-and it’s guaranteed.
We want to know that we’ve done our job well and if we could have done anything else to improve the experience or the final outcome. At the end of each project, we ask clients to fill out a satisfaction report, which is now available on our website. This is a fast and easy way to provide us feedback, and 99 percent of the time our clients happy to serve as a reference or invite us back into their homes in the future!
