J.S. Brown & Co. is currently seeking a Sales/ Design Consultant who will be responsible for:
- Achieving sales volume and margin goals
- Identifying and calling on potential new customers
- Efficiently and accurately estimating the costs of a potential project and securing a retainer
- Creating value propositions that meet the customer’s needs
- Developing ongoing customer relationships
- Serving as primary liaison between client and the company throughout design estimating, sales, construction process, and field personnel, as necessary, including conflict resolution.
- Work with project managers and production staff to assure customer satisfaction and profitability
- Maintaining customer data, sales activity, and forecasts in a Buildertrend system
- Representing J.S. Brown & Co at local/national shows and meetings
- CAD software experience
Qualified individuals will possess the following attributes:
- 5+ years of outside sales experience in upscale home building or remodeling preferred, including 2+ years as a salesperson
- Previous experience in design, estimating and working with various subcontracted trades required
- Interior design experience – residential. New construction or remodel.
- Continuing or advanced education of any type related to sales, design, estimating as well as any certifications related to design and/or management of the remodeling process (CKD, CBD, CR, CGR, etc.) is beneficial
- Demonstrated record of quota attainment
- Successful background in account acquisition and retention
- Successful B2B or B2C sales background
- Experience selling directly to high-net-worth homeowners is a plus
- Desire to work in an environment that rewards strong ethical standards and conduct
- Strong quantitative skills and an understanding of costs and profit margins
- Strong general computer skills
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work ‘on deadline’
- Project Management
- Possess a valid drivers license with a safe driving record
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Preference will be given to candidates from the following backgrounds:
- Home Restoration and Remodeling firms (NARI, NAHB, or NKBA exposure)
- Custom Home Builders
- Property and Casualty Insurance Claims Adjusters
- Trades – electrical, HVAC, home inspection
- Residential real estate appraisers and assessors
- BNI, Chamber of Commerce or other networking involvement
The Company will advance the employee a bi-weekly income at the rate of $40,000 annually plus commission for jobs and retainers sold for the initial 6 months period of employment. After the first 6 months the salary will discontinue and commission is anticipated to provide all future income.
- 19% of the Gross Margin of Sales in which you are the Design Consultant
- 50% of Design Agreements
