J.S. Brown & Co. was established in 1978 by founder and namesake Jeffrey S. Brown. Over the last four decades, our team of professionals has been invited into thousands of homes in the central Ohio area. From basements to rooftops, we’ve used our craft to improve rooms and spaces of all shapes and sizes and we’ve transformed homes into showpieces that enhance the owners’ lives and increase the value of their most important investment.

Brown & Co. employs a highly experienced design-build staff of dedicated professionals with a wide range of industry certifications including Certified & Master Certified Remodeler (CR & MCR), Certified Remodeling Project Manager (CRPM), Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC), Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD), Associate & Master Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBD & CMKBD), and Universal Design Certified Professional (UDCP).

Our design professionals and sales staff are supported by our own in-house residential & interior designers and we maintain long-term relationships with the industry’s most sought-after suppliers and subcontractors to complement the capabilities of our core team.

Our 11,000 sq. ft. facility, located at 1522 Hess Street in Grandview Heights, Ohio, is decked out with state-of-the art technology and hundreds of samples. It’s the perfect place to explore the multitude of possibilities in home remodeling.

After all, nobody understands your vision better than you. Our remodel process involves the customer every step of the way to ensure that each element is tailored to the homeowner’s unique style. The result is an experience we hope you enjoy, a home you absolutely love and the peace of mind that a 40-plus year old company will stand by you every step of the way. After all, over four decades has to matter…it does to us!!

1: Consultation

The first step of our process is a free, in-home consultation to collaborate on a “big picture” concept for the area of the home being remodeled or added on to.

If we feel like we can meet each others expectations, we ask you to invest in the next step of our process of designing and planning and put our design team to work.

2: Proposal

After taking detailed measurements and photographs, we use cutting-edge technology to provide an accurate representation of the proposed project and investment required, along with help selecting materials, colors, and finishes.

3: Project Schedule & Production Plan

With your new project plan defined, we will then determine a timeline for the project and a payment schedule before swinging a hammer. Turning part of your home into a construction site can be stressful, so we will be sure to set clear expectations to put your mind at ease.

4: Construction Begins

Once we’re on the same page, construction begins! While you won’t be getting down and dusty, you will still be involved in the process through on-site meetings at key milestones to make sure everything is moving forward as planned.

5: Final Walk-Through & Warranty

Once the project has been completed, we’ll walk through the new space with you to ensure your satisfaction with our work.
